Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has a new version of the game’s iconic opening theme, and it sounds great

Almost everything associated with the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater stands out, but nothing is more memorable than its extraordinary title theme music.

In the process of recreating the classic Unreal Engine 5 Delta using the original elements such as the Ape Escape Minigame and the mature Peep Theatre, Konami has crafted a fresh rendition of the game’s iconic theme tune to suit this shiny new take on the game.

Metal Gear Solid Delta gets a new Snake Eater theme

In anticipation of its upcoming release, Konami has unveiled an updated version of the opening cinematic for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. This fresh take includes a re-recording of the iconic theme song.

In the remastered version, Cynthia Harrell re-records the vocals for the song, while the original dialogue from the PS2 game is used in the cutscenes. However, the musician has entirely redone their work for the game.

According to Konami, the upcoming edition of the game aims to stay incredibly true to its original form. As a result, it will preserve the original’s segmented loading zones and content that may have been considered censored by some players.

On the other hand, certain updates have been incorporated, including a fresh, contemporary control system that simplifies the gameplay slightly. Players now find themselves experiencing a more ‘Rambo 3’ style of game rather than ‘First Blood’.

Despite a nearly decade-long hiatus, it’s absolutely thrilling to be a Metal Gear fan right now! Although we’d also enjoy a complete remake of the first game, perhaps even superior to Twin Snakes, revisiting one of the series’ gems with updated graphics is truly delightful.

Konami is equally dedicated to resurrecting various other franchises, including their iconic horror series, Silent Hill. Following the successful remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team, there’s another project underway – Silent Hill F, which promises a fresh perspective on this cherished franchise, with a primary focus on Japan.
