Metal Gear Solid Delta isn’t removing Subsistence’s saucy Peep Theatre, confirms age rating

In the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater by Konami, some of the racier aspects from the PlayStation 2 version are set to reappear. This seems to align with the game’s Subsistence update, as an official rating suggests that a higher level of adult content will be incorporated in the remake.

In an effort to preserve the authenticity of the game while introducing a more user-friendly control system, some of the original’s controversial aspects might reappear. Yet, given current societal norms, it’s somewhat unexpected that these elements would resurface.

Metal Gear Solid Delta retains risque features

According to the updated ESRB rating before the game’s August launch, it has been revealed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will maintain certain adult content in its scenes as well as additional features.

In the “Subsistence” edition of the game Snake Eater, players had the ability to unlock the Peep Demo Theatre. This unique feature not only played every scene featuring Eva, but also enabled them to closely examine the character’s appearance.

The game’s ESRB rating indicates that it includes explicit or sexually suggestive material. Scenes depict a man touching a woman’s breasts, close-ups of a woman’s cleavage, a character momentarily touching another man’s crotch, and a Peep Demo Theatre where players can watch cutscenes from a first-person perspective, focusing on a female character’s body.

It’s clear that Konami has put a lot of effort into faithfully recreating the original game. Not only have they revived the Peep Demo Theatre, but they’re also reintroducing Ape Escape content licensed for PC and PS5. However, instead of a more fluid level design, they’ve opted to maintain the original game’s area loading system. And as a surprise, there will be a new Bomberman section for Xbox gamers to enjoy.
