As a long-time Metal Gear Solid enthusiast who grew up playing and replaying the original Snake Eater, I must admit that the new CQC takedown animation in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has me genuinely excited! The level of detail and realism in these animations is impressive, and it’s clear that the developers have been working tirelessly to create an immersive experience for us fans.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. In the original game, there were certain CQC takedowns that were missing from my arsenal. But it seems like the developers have added a new one! A YouTube legend, PythonSelkan, recently caught some exclusive footage from the Tokyo Game Show, and it looks like Naked Snake is now able to perform a ‘choke slam’ on enemy soldiers – a move that was previously unseen in this series. I can hardly wait to get my hands on this game!
In the animation, we initially witness Snake skillfully deflecting the foe’s weapon using one arm. Next, he delivers a powerful blow to their abdomen with his other arm. Subsequently, Snake grabs hold of the enemy by the neck and forcefully slams them onto the ground in a chokehold maneuver.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my appreciation for Close Quarters Combat (CQC), a pivotal element that shapes the gameplay experience in the Metal Gear Solid series. Originally devised by Naked Snake and The Boss, this tactical approach allows me, as Snake, to either swiftly or covertly neutralize enemy soldiers. Following the 2004 original, CQC also empowers me with the ability to extract valuable information from captured soldiers, such as enemy patrol routes and hidden loot locations. It’s heartening to see that the CQC animations in the latest version, Delta, seem significantly more refined and realistic compared to the original, offering a more immersive gameplay experience.
Keep in mind, just as with pre-release game videos, changes may occur. However, it’s unlikely that the recent takedown won’t be included in the final version.
For several months now, there’s been no active Production Hotline from Konami. Previously, they had a regular rhythm of around once a month, where they would engage with fans, answer questions, and provide updates about the progress of their fan-focused series, particularly Metal Gear Solid (MGS). The most recent update from Konami was delivered in a cast-centric special, hosted by David Hayter, who played Snake. During this special, it emerged that Eva’s actress had been using an alias because she was involved in other projects aimed at younger audiences.
In addition, Hayter utilized his portion of the production to convey a message to fans. “I want everyone to immerse themselves in this universe, whether they’re longtime supporters or just joining us,” he expressed. “I hope they can find the courage to face any challenge, to conquer their own personal ‘Metal Gear’, whatever that symbolizes for them. So, keep pushing forward and never forget, you’re more capable than you think.
Although the developers have confirmed that the game, Delta, can be played from beginning to end, there’s currently no definite release date set for it. However, all anticipation is building towards Q1 of next year, as fans eagerly await an earlier release of the game instead of a delay.
