Metal Gear Solid 4 Could Come To Next Gen With Second Master's Collection

As a lifelong fan who’s been through the trials and tribulations of stealth-action gaming, I can confidently say that the potential return of Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern consoles is nothing short of miraculous! For years, we’ve been yearning for the chance to relive the glory days of Big Boss on anything more than a dusty old PS3.

In June 2023, attentive fans noticed an intriguing detail on the Metal Gear Solid timeline. Three slots for Metal Gear games were found, suggesting potential inclusions such as Metal Gear Solid 4. These could be part of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was exclusively available on the PlayStation 3, a fact that’s unfortunate since the game’s unique charm might not reach a more contemporary gaming community.

Developers have subtly indicated that it’s possible we might see Metal Gear Solid 4 on the latest generation of video game consoles.

“… You Can Probably Connect The Dots.”

A clue that Metal Gear Solid 4 might be arriving on newer gaming consoles was subtly dropped through a tweet from David Hayter, the voice behind Solid Snake character.

He posted a picture with a Snake statue from Metal Gear Solid 4, saying he attended an “interesting meeting the other day…

Had a pretty cool meeting the other day…#MGS

It’s particularly intriguing to hear the details that emerged from IGN’s latest chat with Konami producer Noriaki Okamura.

He was asked directly about bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern consoles, to which he replied:

We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4. Unfortunately we can’t really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots!

He goes on by saying:

Right now we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can’t really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!

It appears that Okamura may be subtly suggesting something, even though he’s tied to contracts. We can likely interpret his words and make connections.

Stay tuned for more info!
