In the upcoming sequel, Gibson is set to return as director, with Jim Caviezel reprising his portrayal of Jesus. The focus of this new chapter will be on the miraculous resurrection of Jesus. Interestingly, Gibson hinted that he has collaborated on two distinct screenplays for this project. At present, there’s no confirmed release date or distributor for the movie.

He further explained that he, his brother, and Randall were all involved in this project, bringing together some brilliant minds. However, he warned that the process could get quite wild. To fully convey the story accurately, he suggested starting from the fall of angels, which would transport you to a different world, a different realm, even to hell.
