Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, Rejoins Instagram After Hiatus

As a gamer who closely follows celebrity news and social media trends, I must admit that I was genuinely excited to see Meghan Markle back on Instagram after several years of absence. The Duchess of Sussex has always been known for her charisma, intelligence, and strong sense of self, and it’s fascinating to watch her navigate the world of royalty while maintaining a unique personal touch.

Her return video, shot by Prince Harry at their California home, was a delightful glimpse into her relaxed and playful side. It was refreshing to see her reclaiming her digital space in her own way, on her own terms, after taking a step back due to the negative impact of social media on her well-being during her pregnancy.

It’s intriguing how Meghan has managed to maintain such a strong connection with her fans despite being physically far from the royal family. I’m eager to see what content she shares next, as she continues to break the mold and set her own path in the world of social media and beyond.

As for my favorite part of her return post, it has to be the fact that she wrote 2025 on the sand – a subtle hint at her and Harry’s shared love for Arrowverse shows, perhaps? I can only hope that this is a sign that we might see Meghan Markle guest-starring as herself on Supergirl or The Flash in the near future. After all, who wouldn’t want to see the Duchess of Sussex saving the day with her super powers? #LongLiveTheQueenofSocialMedia

On New Year’s Day, Meghan Markle, who is known as the Duchess of Sussex, caught many off guard by reemerging on Instagram after a long absence. It had been quite some time since her previous activity on this popular social platform, as she was last active several years back due to her former career as an actress.

Here is all we know about Meghan Markle’s return to Instagram.

Meghan Markle rejoins Instagram, posts New Year Video

Meghan Markle posted a new video on Instagram, signaling her comeback to the platform. Her spouse, Prince Harry, captured the footage at a seashore close to their residence in Montecito, California.

In this video, the ex-star from Suits is captured dashing towards the seashore, dressed in a white blouse and trousers. Upon reaching the water’s edge, she scribbled ‘2025’ on the sand. Following that, she was observed laughing and moving to the side. The video did not have any commenting feature available.

Currently, Markle boasts more than 700,000 followers on her account. Two years ago, she subtly hinted at her return to Instagram in an interview with The Cut, saying, “Do you want to know a secret? I’m coming back…on Instagram.

Previously, the Duchess of Sussex boasted a fan base of 3 million on her old Instagram account. After getting engaged to Prince Harry in November 2017, she chose to deactivate this and all her other social media accounts in January 2018. A source from the Palace explained that Markle decided to step away due to being less active on these platforms.

Afterward, she joined the shared Kensington Royal family account with Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William. Later on, she and Harry established their own joint Instagram account called Sussex Royal, which seems to have stopped posting updates in 2020.

At SXSW 2024, Markle discussed the influence of social media, expressing that she maintained a distance from it for her mental health. She further mentioned that most of the online harassment she endured occurred during her pregnancies with Archie and Lilibet.
