As a fan who has followed Megan Thee Stallion‘s journey since her “Hot Girl Summer” days, it’s disheartening to see such a strong, empowering figure like her having to deal with such petty and malicious actions from someone like Tory Lanez. It’s like watching a boxing match where one boxer is throwing punches while the other is hiding behind bars, still trying to land blows.
Music star Megan Thee Stallion and her legal team have publicly accused Tory Lanez of attempting to harm her reputation while he’s in prison. Currently serving a 10-year sentence at the California Correctional Institution for shooting Megan, Lanez was convicted in 2020 for wounding her foot with gunfire. Even behind bars, Lanez, a Canadian artist, is reportedly trying to tarnish Megan’s reputation, according to her latest claims.
Here are all the available details regarding the “Mamushi” singer’s legal battle with Lanez.
What did Megan Thee Stallion say about Tory Lanez?
Megan Thee Stallion asserts that Tory Lanez hired controversial YouTuber Milagro Gramz to criticize her through her videos. She had previously filed a lawsuit against the video streamer, which she did in October, for disseminating untrue statements about her during the widely publicized trial of Lanez.
In an updated lawsuit filed against him, Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team has added a new allegation. This accusation arises from phone conversations recorded in jail and obtained through a subpoena involving Tory Lanez. Upon reviewing the material, Lanez’s attorneys assert that there is enough proof to substantiate claims that he paid Gramz to speak negatively about Megan Thee Stallion on his behalf.
The aforementioned filing reads, “[Tory] has repeatedly discussed [Gramz] with his father.” The report also added that “the two confidently asserted that [Megan] would never be able to prove that [Tory] pays or paid [Gramz] for attacking [Megan]. [Gramz’s] false statements regarding the Trial are part and parcel of a conspiratorial relationship with [Tory] in which [Gramz] acts as a paid surrogate used to spread [Tory]’s lies about [Megan].”
In addition to Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team has also filed a defamation lawsuit and requested an injunction against Milagro Gramz. Originally, Megan sued her for urging her followers to view a sexually explicit, deepfake video of the singer and for providing false statements during the Tory Lanez case, as reported by HipHopDX.
As stated in the documents filed, Megan Thee Stallion aims to recover a sum of $75,000 as compensation in this case, scheduled for trial on July 21, 2025.
