Meet the Parents 4 Finds Director for Ben Stiller & Robert De Niro Movie

The fourth installment of the “Meet the Parents” comedy series is gaining momentum as it has now secured a director, according to recent reports from Deadline.

Who is directing Meet the Parents 4?

Based on Deadline’s recent update, it appears that John Hamburg has been chosen to both direct and write the upcoming fourth film in the series. Given his extensive experience writing for the “Meet the Parents” franchise, having worked on each of the three preceding movies, he is quite familiar with this cinematic universe.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Ben Stiller on numerous occasions before, most notably directing him in 2004’s “Along Came Polly.” Furthermore, I’ve had the pleasure of penning several other projects starring Stiller, such as both installments of the hilarious “Zoolander” series.

At present, the specifics of the plot for Meet the Parents 4 remain secret. However, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are overseeing production through Tribeca Productions. Meanwhile, Ben Stiller, along with John Lesher, will be involved in producing through Red Hour Films, while Judd Apatow serves as a producer via Delirious Media.

A release date for Meet the Parents 4 has not yet been announced.

Under the guidance of director Jay Roach, “Meet the Parents” is a 2000 comedy film featuring Ben Stiller in the role of Greg Focker, Robert De Niro portraying Jack Byrnes, Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes, and Teri Polo as Pam Byrnes. This production is a modern adaptation of the 1992 film with the same title, which was originally directed by Greg Glienna.

Following the original film “Meet the Parents” came two sequels: “Meet the Fockers” in 2004 and “Little Fockers” in 2010. Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo appeared in both movies, along with Owen Wilson’s character Kevin Rawley. Furthermore, “Meet the Fockers” introduced Dustin Hoffman as Bernie Focker and Barbra Streisand as Roz Focker.

You can find all three movies – “Meeting the Parents”, “Meeting the Focker family”, and their sequel “Little Fockers” – for rental or purchase on various digital platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and others.
