As a dedicated fan of FBI: International, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the latest casting news and the upcoming season 4 premiere. Having followed the show closely since its inception, I’ve grown attached to the Fly Team and their investigations. The cliffhanger ending of season 3 left us with many questions regarding Scott Forrester’s whereabouts, and the prospect of a new team lead piqued my curiosity.
In about three months, “FBI: International” will be back on CBS with its season 4 premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. ET. The network is already generating buzz for the show’s comeback. The finale of season 3 provided some answers regarding Scott Forrester’s departure from the Fly Team. Although he is currently on the run with his mother, Angela, and possibly hiding in Alaska, there’s been confirmation that he’s still alive. This creates an opportunity for Luke Kleintank to reappear as a guest star if he so chooses.
Now, the question is who will take over from him as the leader of Fly Team. Towards the end of the third season, viewers were introduced to Brian Lange, portrayed by Colin Donnell from “Chicago Med.” He aided the team in their search for Scott and Angela. There had been rumors that he might assume the role of team leader, but it seems that’s not going to happen. Instead, another actor from the One Chicago universe is being considered for the position.
As a long-time fan of the One Chicago universe and its interconnected shows, I was thrilled when the news broke that Jesse Lee Soffer was joining the cast of FBI: International. However, what made me even more intrigued was the fact that his character’s identity had been kept under wraps. Having followed Soffer’s tenure as Jay Halstead on Chicago P.D., I was initially hopeful that he would be reprising his role in some capacity.
According to TVLine, the actor is slated to portray Wesley “Wes” Mitchell, a charismatic and roguish new Supervisory Special Agent for the Fly Team. This intriguing figure is said to be an attractive, suave gentleman with panache, who possesses a knack for winning over women. Moreover, he’s driven by a strong sense of justice that compels him to employ unconventional tactics to complete his assignments. Equipped with “unerring intuition” and an indomitable spirit, Wes is set to be an excellent fit for the team.
In the upcoming fourth season of “FBI: International,” Soffer’s character development is the only known detail. It’s uncertain whether Wes’ arrival on the team will bring tension or a smooth transition. Possible scenarios include an episode depicting Wes’ first day with the team, allowing us to witness their reactions, or joining the storyline post-introduction, filling in the gaps between the season 3 finale and the premiere of season 4.
