Oh my goodness, I simply adore this dashing young man from the South, Dhruv Vikram! From his stunning looks to his versatile performances, he’s got it all! But what truly sets him apart is his multifaceted talent – acting, singing, and even lyricist!

For quite some time, this Indian actor has been involved with the film industry of the south, earning significant recognition due to his attractive appearance and diverse acting abilities. Although his number of films is relatively small at present, he’s also gained fame as a singer and songwriter. Moreover, beyond his career, Dhruv Vikram drew attention in 2018 when he became involved in a controversial drunk driving incident. In summary, we’re referring to Dhruv Vikram.

Who is Dhruv Vikram?

1995 saw the birth of Dhruv Vikram, a versatile talent who works as an actor, lyricist, and singer primarily within the Tamil film industry. He is the son of celebrated actor Chiyaan Vikram and his spouse Shailaja, and he comes from a lineage of acting greats, with his grandfather Vinod Raj being a well-known figure in Tamil films as well.

Born and brought up in Chennai, Dhruv finished his school education at the American International School located within the city. Subsequently, he chose to delve deeper into film studies and acting, attending the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York, followed by a course at the MetFilm School in London.

Dhruv Vikram’s film debut

Born to a well-known actor like Chiyaan Vikram, it was likely that Dhruv would also pursue a career similar to his father’s in the entertainment industry. His first opportunity to debut in cinema came in 2008 with the film Pasanga, but his father, Vikram, had reservations about the offer, leading Dhruv to ultimately decline it.

2016 saw Dhruv taking the helm for the very first time, directing a short film titled “Good Night Charlie.” This poignant piece centered around the sensitive issue of child abuse and made its debut on YouTube.

2019 marked the first time on the big screen for Dhruv, as he starred in Adithya Varma, a Telugu adaptation of the classic film Arjun Reddy. The movie was helmed by Gireesaaya, and Dhruv was praised for his portrayal that captured the spirit of the original production.

Instead, his unique flair and mystery set his portrayal apart from simply imitating the role from the Vijay Deverakonda film.

Dhruv Vikram’s filmography

Following his initial appearance in 2019, Dhruv has only been featured in a limited number of movies, such as Varmaa and Mahaan. Notably, Mahaan signified his first joint project with his father, Chiyaan Vikram, who was making his 60th film at the time. Additionally, he created a song titled “Missing Me” for this movie, which premiered directly on Amazon Prime in February 2022.

Dhruv Vikram got embroiled in a drink and drive case

In addition to his generally uneventful life, Dhruv Vikram made news in 2018 after he and a group of friends were charged for a drink-driving incident in Chennai’s Teynampet district. Reportedly, Dhruv crashed his car into some parked auto-rickshaws along the roadside, causing severe damage to them. This accident also resulted in a serious injury to one person.

Despite Chiyaan Vikram’s team stating that his son wasn’t intoxicated, no breathalyzer test was conducted by the police. However, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against him for reckless driving (IPC 279) and endangering others’ lives (IPC 337). Later, he and his companions were granted bail.

Dhruv Vikram’s relationship with British-Indian actress Banita Sandhu

Dhruv Vikram and Banita Sandhu, a Welsh-born actress of British-Indian descent, worked together in Dhruv’s debut movie, Adithya Varma. Initially, they appeared to make an excellent acting duo, but their frequent shared posts on social media sparked rumors that they could be something more than friends.

Indeed, speculation grew even stronger when it was discovered that they celebrated New Year’s Eve 2022 together in Dubai. It’s worth noting that, contrary to many assumptions, they have consistently claimed their relationship is merely a strong friendship.

On the work front, Dhruv Vikram will be next seen in the film Bison, directed by Pa Ranjith.
