As a lifestyle expert, I have had the pleasure of delving deep into the lives of many fascinating individuals, but few can match the charisma and resilience of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. Born in Andhra Pradesh to a pharmacist father and homemaker mother, Ravi was always drawn towards the glamour and magic of cinema.
Ravi Teja, whom we know today as a successful actor, producer, and source of entertainment, has had a lifelong fascination with cinema. As a young man, he admired the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and aspired to achieve the same level of fame. In fact, his ambition was so strong that he even tried to leave home in pursuit of an acting career.
Who is Ravi Teja?
Ravi Teja is an actor and producer from India, primarily known for his roles in Telugu films. He entered this world on January 26, 1968, to parents Bhoopatiraju Rajagopal Raju, who was a pharmacist, and Bhoopatiraju Rajya Lakshmi, a homemaker, in Andhra Pradesh.
The oldest son among three brothers, Ravi Teja, is an actor, along with his younger siblings Bharath and Raghu. Acting supports all of them financially. Ravi Teja grew up primarily in Northern India due to his father’s occupation.

Ravi finished his elementary education in Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhopal. Afterward, he and his family relocated to Vijayawada, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Arts at Siddhartha Degree College.
Ravi Teja’s admiration towards Amitabh Bachchan
From a young age, Ravi had a strong attraction to movies. He was captivated by the film industry and admired the iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan deeply.
As an ardent admirer of Big B, I used to passionately recreate scenes from his movies in the comfort of my own home. My infatuation with the actor came close to causing a fire hazard in my house.

According to a report in Filmibeat, when Ravi Teja was only five years old, an incident occurred where he accidentally set fire to the sofas in his home’s living room. At that time, his mother was away shopping.
Ravi Teja’s filmography
Lastly, Ravi Teja’s strong passion and devotion towards cinema led him to join the entertainment industry. Back in 1988, during his college years, Ravi traveled to Madras with the dream of becoming an actor.
In the early ’90s, I had the opportunity to appear in supporting roles in a few films such as Karthavyam (1990), Abhimanyu (1990), Chaitanya (1991), Collector Gaari Alludu (1992), and Aaj Ka Goonda Raj (1992). At the start of my career, I honed my skills working behind the scenes as an assistant director in television and films.
As an AD (assistant director) yet, Ravi secured a role with speaking parts in the movie “Sindhooram.” Krishna Vamsi helmed its direction, earning the National Film Award for Best Telugu Feature Film. Despite not being the main actor, Ravi’s acting left a lasting impression on viewers.
In the year 2001, Ravi Teja experienced a significant achievement in his acting career. He teamed up with Puri Jagannadh for the production of Itlu Sravani Subramanyam. This movie was a major success at the box office and brought Ravi Teja widespread recognition. Ravi Teja first appeared as the main actor in 1999, debuting in the film Nee Kosam.

In 2002, I was absolutely ecstatic when Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru!, directed by Vamsy and featuring Kalyani as my favorite co-star, hit the screens. This movie became a massive success at the box office just like I had hoped it would be. Amazing, wasn’t it? And to make things even better, Ravi Teja and I teamed up with the brilliant Puri Jagannadh for “Idiot” that very same year! What a fantastic year it was for my favorite stars!
Over the course of several years, Ravi Teja delivered numerous blockbuster movies, solidifying his position as a prominent actor in the southern film industry. Some of his most notable films are Vikramarkudu, Khatarnak, Dubai Seenu, Kick, Mirapakay, Dongala Mutha, Neninthe, and Bengal Tiger, to name just a few.
Ravi Teja’s personal life
On May 26, 2002, Ravi Teja and his wife Kalyani, originally from Ganapavaram in West Godavari District, shared marriage vows. They’ve been enjoying over two decades of marital bliss together.

As your trusted lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share that this influential duo is blessed with two wonderful children – Mokshadha, their daughter, and Mahadhan, their son. Unlike her husband who thrives in the public eye, Kalyani prefers to keep a low profile. Consequently, not many snapshots of her are visible on social media platforms.
Ravi Teja’s sabbatical
After the release of Ravi Teja’s film “Bengal Tiger” in 2015, there was a break of two consecutive years during which he took a hiatus from the film industry. In an interview with Indiaglitz, he shared this information, stating, “Initially, it was meant to be a one-year absence, but it unexpectedly extended into a two-year hiatus.”
Instead of “He further shared,” you could say “He went on to explain,” or simply “He added.”
Ravi Teja’s upcoming project
After that, the actor Ramarao On Duty is set to appear in the highly anticipated movie titled Mr Bachchan. This Telugu production, helmed by Harish Shankar, boasts a star-studded cast including Sachin Khedekar, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and others in significant roles. Alongside Ravi Teja, Jagapathi Babu, and Bhagyashree Borse.
According to reports, the upcoming film is inspired by a true event: an income tax investigation into Indian businessman Sardar Inder Singh. The movie is scheduled for release on India’s Independence Day in 2024.
Ravi Teja’s admiration for Amitabh Bachchan grew so much that he eventually starred in a movie titled after his idol’s renowned moniker.
