Originally from India, this actor’s journey in entertainment kicked off behind the microphone as a Radio Jockey (RJ). Moreover, he was a member of a metal band called Crimson during his early days. Yet, it was his role in Malayalam cinema’s box office hit, Manjummel Boys, that brought him widespread recognition. Correctly guessed? It is indeed Sreenath Bhasi.

Who is Sreenath Bhasi?

Born on the 29th of May, 1988, Sreenath Bhasi started his career off-screen as a popular DJ before venturing into Malayalam cinema. He honed his skills as a Radio Jockey at Red FM 93.5 and also served as a Video Jockey. It was his role in Da Thadiya that brought him to prominence, leading to numerous film appearances since then. Additionally, Sreenath is known for being a former member of the Christian alternative metal band Crimson Wood, and currently serves as the vocalist for an experimental djent band based in Kerala.

Simultaneously, the actor gained recognition due to his part in Manjummel Boys, a movie directed by Chidambaram. This survivor-thriller is based on a true event and follows a group of boys embarking on a journey to Kodaikanal. Unfortunately, one of them slips into a deep pit in the Guna Caves and becomes trapped. Despite the odds, his friends tirelessly attempt to rescue their friend.

For those not familiar with it, Manjummel Boys achieved extraordinary success and set a new record as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever in 2024.

Among Sreenath’s finest creations are titles like “22 Female Kottayam,” “Corona Dhavan,” “Lovefully Yours Veda,” “Padachone Ingalu Kaatholee,” “Bheeshma Parvam,” “Aakasha Ganga 2,” and several others.

In his personal sphere, Sreenath got married to his long-term partner, Reethu Zachariah, during a ceremony held in Kochi, all the way back in 2016.

Sreenath Bhasi’s controversies

In October, actor Sreenath Bhasi was taken into custody and later released on bond due to an unfortunate road accident he was involved in. As reported by PTI, the car transporting him struck a motorcycle and did not stop afterwards. The incident led to the Ernakulam Central Police launching an investigation because the victim sustained injuries from the crash. Sreenath presented himself to the authorities at the time and was given bail. However, his driving privileges were temporarily revoked for a month.

Prior to the road accident, it’s worth mentioning that Sreenath Bhasi found himself embroiled in another notable incident. This time, he was reportedly connected to a gangster named Om Prakash, in relation to a drug case. However, luckily for him, the Kerala police were unable to substantiate these allegations under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as there was insufficient evidence against him.

Regarding his professional endeavors, Sreenath Bhasi has several upcoming movies lined up such as Pongala, Udumbanchola Vision, CIBIL Score, among others.
