As a lifestyle expert, I have had the pleasure of observing and admiring the remarkable journey of Prithviraj Sukumaran, an actor who defied societal expectations and emerged as a superstar from the Indian film industry.
I’ve always been fascinated by the incredible journey of this South cinema actor. At one point in his career, he was relentlessly mocked for his unwavering demeanor and extensive knowledge across multiple industries. But what struck me most about him was his unyielding determination to prove the naysayers wrong.
Certainly!

Prithviraj Sukumaran became well-known in films despite facing criticism and hatred during his early days. Originally pursuing a degree in Information Technology at an Australian university in Tasmania, he later decided to pursue acting with the film “Nandanam,” directed by Ranjith.
Despit initially being planned to work on a film with director Fazil and even undergoing screen tests for it, their project failed to come to fruition. As a result, Fazil suggested him to Ranjith instead. The first Malayalam movie that featured him was a romantic film starring Navya Nair in the lead role.
Despite the film being finished, its release was delayed, causing the actor’s films Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari and Stop Violence to come out first. Later on, the actor collaborated with esteemed Malayalam directors such as Lohithadas, Vinayan, Kamal, and Bhadran.
I have been fascinated by the remarkable journey of this actor in the Tamil film industry. By 2005, he had already made a mark for himself in Kollywood, debuting as the main antagonist in KV Anand’s directorial “Kana Kandaen,” where he acted alongside Srikanth and Gopika. This role set the stage for an impressive career ahead.

Despite being a promising actor with an impressive resume of roles and partnerships, he faced intense criticism from the public, including jokes and derisive nicknames. His strong convictions earned him the reputation of being “arrogant” in the eyes of the public, yet this did not deter him from continuing to make films.
By 2010, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to act alongside Mammootty in Pokkiri Raja. And what a year it was! I also made my Telugu debut in Police Police. But that’s not all, I got to play the menacing antagonist in Raavanan, directed by the legendary Mani Ratnam. Sharing the screen with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as her on-screen husband was an experience I will cherish forever.
Starting from 2012, the actor marked his entry into Bollywood with the star-studded comedy “Aiyyaa” featuring Rani Mukerji. Over the ensuing years, he gained increasing recognition and box office triumphs. His acting roles led him to receive a second Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor (for “Celluloid”) and his first Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Villain (“Kaaviya Thalaivan”).
Through a varied filmography that included both major hits and flops, the actor solidified his place as a prominent figure in Indian cinema, honing his acting abilities with every production. The movies that underperformed financially earned critical acclaim for the actor’s talents, ultimately propelling him to superstardom within the industry.

After achieving great success as an actor in film production, he then made his directorial debut, teaming up with Mohanlal for the hit movie “Lucifer.” This film was a huge financial success in Malayalam cinema, and the actor is now working on the sequel titled “L2: Empuraan.”
In addition to appearing in successful Malayalam films such as Driving License, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and Aadujeevitham, the actor has recently re-entered the Telugu film industry with the movie Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire featuring Prabhas.
