1992 saw the birth of Mrunal, who originates from a household where Marathi is the primary language, situated in the state of Maharashtra. She finished her schooling in the city famed as a dream destination and subsequently enrolled at KC College to earn a B.Tech degree.
Instead, because of attendance problems and her strong passion for acting, Mrunal decided to forego her college education. Instead, she dedicated herself to building a career in the television industry.
Early career debut with television
During her college days, Mrunal landed her debut role as Gauri Bhosle in the TV series “Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan.” She starred opposite Mohit Sehgal in this daily soap, which premiered on Star Plus in 2012.
By February 2014, she secured her next major television series titled Kumkum Bhagya, propelling her to widespread recognition in a flash. In this production, she portrayed the younger sister of the main female character, which was performed by Sriti Jha. Her performance as Bulbul garnered favorable feedback from both fans and critics.
Debut in films in a lead role opposite Hrithik Roshan
In the year 2014, Mrunal made his debut in mainstream movies by starring in three Marathi films titled “Hello Nandan”, “Vitti Dandu”, and “Surajya”.
In 2019, Mrunal Thakur made her Bollywood entrance as the leading actress alongside Hrithik Roshan in the film “Super30,” directed by Vikas Bahl. This movie was a commercial hit and one of the top-earning films that year.
In the very same year, she teamed up with John Abraham in the film “Batla House”. Her character was his on-screen spouse. This movie also turned out to be financially successful at the box office, once more.
Mrunal Thakur’s Telugu films, success with sleeper hit Sita Ramam
In a surprising turn of events, Mrunal’s subsequent endeavor saw her making a mark in the Tamil film industry too. Her initial venture was a collaboration with Dulquer Salmaan in the movie titled Sita Ramam. This period romance drama turned out to be a quiet success, and her performance within it received favorable reviews from critics.

Mrunal Thakur auditioned for a Hollywood film

In fact, she tried out for a part in The Matrix Resurrections last year, but unfortunately, the role was given to Priyanka Chopra instead.

Progressing further, actress Mrunal Thakur has drawn interest for her upcoming film, titled AA22xA6, a massive production by Allu Arjun and Atlee. This ambitious project, valued at approximately 800 crores, already counts Deepika Padukone as its leading lady, with Thakur set to join her as the second female lead.
Besides this, she has another Telugu movie, Dacoit, opposite Adivi Sesh.
