Mayonaka Punch episode 4 recap
The story begins by showing an old memory of Aya handing over a mixtape to Fuu, encouraging her to pursue her career professionally. Simultaneously, at the mansion, Masaki requests everyone to fill out a questionnaire for future plans. She inquires about Fuu, but learns she’s working instead. Later on, Masaki goes to Fuu’s room to distribute the questionnaires and is taken aback when she hears her singing from a mixtape hidden within it.
As a dedicated fan, I found myself thrilled when Masaki and Live unexpectedly dropped by at Fuu’s workplace, revealing their plans to feature her singing in the next video. Yet, Fuu swiftly turned down the offer and earnestly requested Masaki to grant her some personal space. The narrative then shifted, presenting a flashback where Aya asked Fuu to join her daily singing practice sessions, an invitation Fuu graciously accepted.
Yet, upon her return home, Shigeyuki cautions her that it’s implausible for a vampire to be a pop star, given their nature. On the day of the audition, Fuu hesitated at the last moment and disappeared, leaving Aya to face the stage alone. The narrative then shifts back to the present, where Masaki and the group delve into Fuu’s background to learn more about Aya.
Masaki informs her that they’ve tracked down Aya’s whereabouts and provides the address where she had been. Fuu sets off to meet her and express his apologies. Unfortunately, Aya has already passed away. Masaki expresses regret for not delving deeper in their investigation while Live searches through Aya’s guitar case. In the search, they discover a video of Aya discussing her friendship with Fuu, which moves the vampire to tears. The episode concludes with Fuu playing the song featured in the video.
