A24 has shared the official Materialists trailer for its newest romantic comedy movie about a New York matchmaker played by Dakota Johnson. The film is slated to debut in theaters on June 13, 2025.
Its current theatrical release date will pit the film directly against Universal Pictures’ live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie at the box office. It is also set to premiere in the same month as other high-profile movies such as Lionsgate’s John Wick spin-off Ballerina starring Ana de Armas; Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King movie The Life of Chuck starring Tom Hiddleston; Sony Pictures’ 28 Years Later sequel starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson; and Warner Bros.’ sports drama movie F1with Brad Pitt.
