In the world of Oblivion Remastered, the mysterious Gray Fox possesses a secret strategy. This strategy requires you, the player, to develop into an outstanding thief and secure the Arrow of Extrication, another valuable artifact. As you delve through labyrinths, engage in conflicts with sorcerers, and make off with a relic imbued with unknown forces, be prepared for some challenging encounters. However, fear not, for here you’ll find the tools necessary to advance in your quest.
As a stealthy gamer, I’ve been tasked with acquiring the Artifact of Escape from its hidden location. It’s crucial to figure out where this artifact is concealed and devise a strategy to snatch it without triggering any alarms or jeopardizing my other quests beyond the Thieves Guild.
How to Get the Arrow of Extrication Quest in Oblivion Remastered
To embark on the Arrow of Extrication mission, gamers need to first accumulate 700 Gold by secretly selling stolen items to members of the Thieves Guild, such as Ongar at Olav’s Tap and Tack in Bruma or Orrin in the Smithy area of Anvil Castle. Once you’ve amassed 700 Gold from these ill-gotten goods, travel to the Waterfront District within the Imperial City. Wait for 24 hours within the game, during which Amusei will approach you and offer a quest to meet the Gray Fox. You can locate the Gray Fox in Malintus Ancrus’s residence in Chorrol, where you may then take up his unique assignment.
How to Sneak Into Bravil Castle and Find Fathis’s Secret Room in Oblivion Remastered
After obtaining the “Arrow of Release” quest, adventurers should make their way to Bravil. Upon arrival, search for a beggar wandering about in Bravil. Offer them some coin to divulge information regarding Fathsi Aren. Following this, they will be instructed to venture into Fathis’s chamber, which can be found upstairs from the main room of Bravil’s Castle in the North Wing of the Lord’s Manor. To bypass the guards undetected, it would be best to wait until around 7-8 AM when the patrol changes, allowing for a stealthy passage through unnoticed.
Upon entering the northern wing of Lord’s Manor, proceed to the first chamber to your left, where you’ll find Fathis Aren’s quarters. Open the two chests in the western corner of the room, but unfortunately, they don’t contain an Arrow of Extrication. Instead, focus your attention to the north of Fathis’s room and engage with the small pillar on the right to unveil a hidden passageway leading to Bravil Wizard’s Grotto.
How to Get Through Fathis Aren’s Tower in Oblivion Remastered
Before venturing into the secret room, it’s recommended to carry a water-breathing potion. Upon readiness, players should navigate through the designated path where they may encounter Conjurers and Dremora. While there are valuable items hidden within the dungeon, the primary objective is moving north through the maze-like corridors until you stumble upon tunnels. Here, players can dive into the water. If you have the water-breathing potion, consume it and swim north. A hole in an underwater cave further up will provide a path forward. Swimming any deeper could lead to drowning, so keep swimming north through the underwater cave until you reach Fathis Aren’s Tower.
A map of the exact location for the water cave and where to head can be found in the image above.
How to Successfully Steal the Arrow of Extrication in Oblivion Remastered
Upon entering Fathis Aren’s Tower, players should ascend the stairs to reach his lab on the upper floor. However, they will encounter a group of aggressive spirits, Dremora, and Fathis Aren himself. It’s crucial for members of the Mages Guild not to engage in combat with Fathis Aren, as doing so will result in immediate expulsion. To avoid any issues with the Mages Guild, simply dash up the tower to reach Fathis Aren’s chest and pilfer the Arrow of Extrication, as well as a key to the front door. While it’s permissible to eliminate the foes obstructing your path, be sure to disregard Fathis Aren if he becomes hostile.
After acquiring these two items, players can leave via the Giant Door in the south wall, which leads to the Tower of Fathis Aren. This location allows for quick travel. Despite encountering hostile enemies, they will not pursue players through this door. So, proceed through and quickly travel back to Chorrol, enter Malintus Ancrus’ House, and deliver the Arrow of Extrication to the Gray Fox. Completing this quest will reward players accordingly.
