Prior to 2019, the movie studio 20th Century Fox produced an X-Men film series inspired by the group from Marvel Comics. In 2019, Disney, which owns Marvel Studios, purchased Fox. During a recent interview at the Mediterrane Film Festival in Malta, Jake Schreier was asked about his strategy for the X-Men reboot. Schreier didn’t disclose specific details about his strategy for the project, but he did hint at it, saying, “I would put it this way: Every project begins by focusing on character development, working closely with talented writers and collaborators. And naturally, I always aim to bring something fresh and unique to any project I undertake.

1) After Ryan Coogler, the director of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Panther films, announced that Schreier is directing the remake, it has long been speculated that Schreier would be tapped to helm the reboot.

The film Thunderbolts was highly praised by critics, earning an impressive 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 349 reviews. At the box office, it raked in a substantial $381 million, more than doubling its production budget of $180 million. Previous works by director Shreier include the sci-fi comedy-drama Robot & Frank from 2012, the romantic comedy-drama Paper Towns in 2015, AMC’s Lodge 49, and the Netflix series Beef.

Michael Lesslie, a collaborative writer on “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” is said to be drafting the screenplay for the upcoming film. As for the Marvel Cinematic Universe X-Men reboot, it currently lacks an announced release date.
