Initially, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was a massive success among fans who love classic crossover fighters, but it wasn’t flawless. There were certain aspects that could have been better, and it seems Capcom agrees as they are addressing some of these issues with an update to the game, which will be released later this week.
As a gamer, I’m excited about the major updates coming to Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics! Now, I can enjoy offline Versus Mode play for all the fighting games included in the collection. Plus, there’s a game reset feature that lets me return to the title screen from the pause menu whenever I want.
Another great addition is the ability to pause the game after a long press, which will help prevent accidental inputs during intense matches. And for Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes fans like myself, there’s a new resolution option with smoothed-out background textures!
These updates are on top of the options already available in the Capcom Fighting Collection and will also be included in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2. Unfortunately, it’s not yet clear which of the other two collections’ titles will support the new resolution options. Still, these improvements make me even more eager to dive back into these classic fighting games!
In the upcoming title release, you’ll find additional features such as fresh remixes created by the CAP-JAMS team, along with new artworks courtesy of Capcom artist Shinkiro. Furthermore, fans of X-Men vs. Street Fighter will have the liberty to select their preferred game versions to explore. You can now choose among three different versions: 960910, 961004, and 961023. Each version offers its unique legacy flaws or bug fixes, so go ahead and pick your favorite!
The update for The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is set to launch on Wednesday, April 16th. The complete list of changes will be available on the official Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection site on that same day.
