As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia when I see yet another iconic Marvel character joining the roster of Marvel Rivals. Having played every iteration of Hawkeye since the days of the 8-bit NES, it feels like coming home to see him grace the screens once more.
Next month, the roster of Marvel Rivals is growing, introducing arrow marksman Hawkeye as a new Rivals Duelist. With timely charged shots, explosive area-effect abilities, swift swordplay that pushes back opponents, and more, Clint Barton seems poised to be lethal in the right hands, demonstrating precision and practice.
This week, developers of Marvel Rivals unveiled that Hawkeye will be added to the game’s character lineup in a new trailer. Debuting on December 6, 2024, Hawkeye is classified as a Duelist, focusing on offensive damage and aggression. His primary ability allows him to fire arrows with ease, but when charged, his shots deal more significant damage. He boasts a powerful charge move where correctly timed releases grant an additional damage bonus. For evasive opponents, Hawkeye can deploy explosive arrows to immobilize or inflict area-of-effect damage. Additionally, in close combat situations, he wields swords and has the ability to push enemies away. The trailer showcases Hawkeye even pushing an adversary off a map edge for a treacherous kill.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled about the expansion of Marvel Rivals! Hawkeye is set to join the roster, bumping it up to 28 characters. Although Psylocke has been hinted at, she’s yet to make an official appearance on the website. The game developers, NetEase and Marvel Games, have revealed a tentative plan, aiming to have about 33 playable heroes ready by the time the game launches in its full glory. This number will also include 8 competitive and quick play maps, 1 Conquest map, and a fresh practice range for us to hone our skills!
On December 6th, you’ll see Hawkeye debuting in Marvel Rivals! Keep an eye out for further developments. You can follow the latest news and updates about Marvel Rivals right here.
