Marvel Rivals devs are working on horrid aiming issues, offer duct-tape fix for now

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can wholeheartedly say that the anticipation for Marvel Rivals Season 1 is palpable. The game has already proven to be a multiplayer gem, but the mouse acceleration issue has been a thorn in many players’ sides.

Marvel Rivals hasn’t kicked off its first season yet, with the start slated for early January. Despite being in pre-season, it’s gaining quite a following due to its engaging multiplayer aspect. However, there are some minor glitches that need addressing, such as aiming issues. Fortunately, developers NetEase are actively listening to player feedback and have provided a temporary workaround for the problematic aiming concerns, promising a long-term solution in Season 1 of Marvel Rivals.

By the start of next year, players can participate in NetEase’s Christmas event offering a fresh game mode and complimentary skin. Regarding upcoming developments, NetEase aims to incorporate cross-progression, however, they mention that “platform-specific regulations” are currently impeding them. Lastly, unofficial leaks suggest the introduction of new characters, both heroes and villains, to the game’s lineup in the near future.

2022 looks set to be extraordinary for Marvel Rivals, as things get underway next year with Season 1 focusing on resolving the mouse sensitivity issue.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 include mouse acceleration fix

In the official Marvel Rivals Discord server, the community manager, James, frequently engages with gamers and offers insights into NetEase’s strategies for the game. Recently, James disclosed that NetEase is actively addressing the mouse acceleration issues and is working on a long-term solution.

James shared, “Appreciate your input about the mouse sensitivity. Currently, we at NetEase are developing a fix, and you can expect to see this new feature in Season 1.

We don’t know what the solution is, but it could just be an in-game toggle. As for what mouse acceleration is, it’s a big problem that results in horrid aiming.

In essence, mouse acceleration governs the distance your cursor moves relative to the speed at which you move your mouse. Swift mouse movement results in a larger cursor trajectory, while slow movement causes a smaller one. This feature can lead to problems when trying to aim accurately, as it may make precise control difficult.

While we have to wait until Season 1 for the solution to arrive, James offered the following fix for right now:

  • Search for Mouse Settings in Windows search box
  • Select Additional mouse settings under the Related settings heading
  • Switch to the Pointer Options tab, then untick the Enhanced pointer box
  • Select Apply and then Ok
