Marvel Rivals brings Moon Knight to its roster in December

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must admit, the gaming landscape has evolved significantly since I first started with pixelated sprites and 2D side-scrollers. The latest addition to Marvel Rivals, Moon Knight, is a testament to this evolution, especially in the realm of character diversity and gameplay mechanics.

The game creators, Marvel Games and NetEase Games, have unveiled the newest addition to their Marvel Rivals team. This character is backed by the Egyptian God of Vengeance, Moon Knight, who is none other than Marc Spector. He will join Marvel Rivals in early December, taking on a role as a Duelist who isn’t afraid to dish out some serious damage when battles ensue.

This week, NetEase and Marvel Games unveiled Moon Knight as the latest addition to Marvel Rivals, releasing on December 8, 2024 across all platforms. As a Duelist-type hero, Moon Knight specializes in dealing damage and appears well-prepared for battle. In the trailer, he’s shown hurling ankhs and blades at enemies from afar, while also being capable of slicing them up close with deadly precision. His ultimate ability allows him to open a portal above the battlefield, sending down spectral hands to inflict damage on opponents – making him particularly effective in open combat situations.

Moon Knight is an intriguing and unconventional choice for Marvel Rivals, a game that has assembled quite an interesting ensemble of heroes similar to Overwatch. Notably, NetEase and Marvel Games are demonstrating their readiness to incorporate lesser-known characters into the roster. While we have heavyweights like Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk, Moon Knight seamlessly fits with characters such as Magik, Luna Snow, and Adam Warlock.
