In an extraordinary crossover event this fall, Deadpool and Batman will team up in a single comic issue titled “DEADPOOL/BATMAN“. The story unfolds as Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, takes on a mercenary job in Gotham City, eventually crossing paths with the legendary detective, Batman. This collaboration is penned by Zeb Wells, renowned for his work on Spider-Man comics and co-writer of the forthcoming Marvel Studios film “Deadpool & Wolverine“. The artwork will be supplied by Greg Capullo, a highly acclaimed artist known for his impactful illustrations in both Batman and X-Men series.

As a hardcore gamer (and comic book fan), I’m super stoked about the upcoming crossover between Marvel and DC! For the first time in over two decades, these giants of the comic book world are teaming up, and it all kicks off with Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman #1 hitting shelves on September 17, 2025. Fast forward to November 2025, where DC’s Batman/Deadpool #1 makes its grand entrance. This double-barreled release gives both publishers a chance to delve into the unique interactions between these iconic characters from their respective perspectives, setting the stage for an epic showdown that fans have been dreaming about!

In a public announcement, Wells shared his enthusiasm by stating, “Following 60 issues of writing The Amazing Spider-Man (2022), I requested some downtime from Marvel. Instead, they offered me the opportunity to create a comic featuring Deadpool and Batman, illustrated by one of the greatest Batman artists today. Guess I won’t be needing that break after all.” He further mentioned that teaming up Deadpool with Batman escalates the tension significantly, making light of the fact that “we’ve discovered someone who dislikes Deadpool’s mischief even more than Wolverine does.” With the Joker threatening an entire city, the unlikely duo will be compelled to form a tense alliance. However, as expected, Deadpool is bound to test their boundaries.

Greg Capullo shared Wells’ excitement, labeling the collaboration a potential career pinnacle. “Is this real life? This crossover could be the best moment of my career… and I’ve had a fantastic career,” Capullo expressed, referencing his extensive work with Deadpool (from X-FORCE) and Batman (dating back over 10 years at DC). With Capullo’s main cover already unveiled, excitement grows as fans eagerly await the encounter between these two unique characters when DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1 hits stores on September 17.

In September, the wise-cracking hero from Marvel, Deadpool, collides with Batman, DC’s dark vigilante, for the very first time in ‘Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman’ #1. This is the start of a two-part crossover event that has been over twenty years in development!
