As a hardcore gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of weapon god rolls in Destiny 2. But the return of Marty’s Retribution has me more excited than a kid on Christmas morning!
After being gone from Destiny 2 for 15 seasons, Marty’s Retribution is back! Alongside the refresh of its perks, some old favorites remain, but there are also fresh additions to enliven your build. Here are a few ideal combinations (god rolls) for Marty’s Retribution.
Martyr’s Retribution god roll – PvE
To optimize a PvE Martyr’s Retribution weapon for the Solar 3.0 update, let’s focus on enhancing its capabilities. In this context, Incandescent stands out as a significant improvement.
Martyr’s Retribution god roll – PvE | |
---|---|
Barrel | Quick Launch (Velocity +10, Handling +15) |
Magazine | High-Velocity Rounds (Velocity +10, Reload Speed +10) |
Perk 1 | Auto-Loading Holster (The holstered weapon is automatically reloaded after a short period of time) |
Perk 2 | Incandescent (Defeating a target spreads scorch to those nearby. More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius.) |
Origin Trait | Cast No Shadows (Dealing melee damage increases this weapon’s handling and loads a small amount of ammo from reserves) |
Masterwork | Blast Radius |
Mod | Quick Access Sling |
Kick things off with the traditional selections of Rapid Deployment and High-Speed Bullets to reduce the bullet’s travel time significantly, allowing the explosion to hit the ground swiftly. Enhance its power by incorporating a Boosted Blast mod.
The perk selection is where Martyr’s Retribution really shines. You could pick just about any combination and walk away with something that works wonderfully in PvE, and truthfully, you might have a different idea of how you want to use this gun. So with that said, I’d be looking for Auto-Loading Holster and Incandescent.
In simpler terms, this setup allows you to discharge a shot, rack up multiple kills thanks to the ensuing explosion, and then automatically reload as you switch to another weapon. Essentially, it functions like a Solar Forbearance. You might also find pleasure in using combinations such as Heal Clip and Kill Clip, or Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie, along with other perks.
Martyr’s Retribution god roll – PvP
Wave Frames can be a tricky beast to counter-play in PvP. This Martyr’s Retribution god roll looks to snuggle right in and be a thorn in your foe’s side.
Martyr’s Retribution god roll – PvP | |
---|---|
Barrel | Linear Compensator (Stability +5, Velocity +5, Blast Radius +5) |
Magazine | High-Velocity Rounds (Velocity +10, Reload Speed +10) |
Perk 1 | Demolitionist (Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves) |
Perk 2 | Vorpal Weapon (Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active) |
Origin Trait | Cast No Shadows (Dealing melee damage increases this weapon’s handling and loads a small amount of ammo from reserves) |
Masterwork | Velocity |
Mod | Radar Booster |
Although velocity is our main focus, the Linear Compensator provides a balanced distribution among several statistics; however, we’re particularly concerned with velocity and blast radius. This combination allows you to tag enemies who believe they are beyond your reach. Add either a Velocity or Blast Radius Masterwork, depending on what you consider crucial for your situation.
1. The two benefits are as follows: Demolitionist quickens the rate at which your grenade recharges when you secure kills repeatedly. Conversely, Vorpal Weapon is designed to disrupt opponents during their super abilities. There’s nothing more disheartening than being interrupted while using your super, so aim to inflict a mental blow on your foe and ride the wave to victory.
The vengeance of the Martyr resurfaces, and this exceptional weapon configuration is bound to create quite a stir in both player versus environment (PVE) and player versus player (PVP) content.
