Martin Scorsese has shared additional details about his upcoming production titled “The Life of Jesus,” mentioning that it’s expected to be shot entirely in monochrome (black-and-white).
What are the new The Life of Jesus details?
In an interview with Italian daily La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno before accepting a lifetime achievement award at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, Scorsese indicated that he was still engaged in the project, hinting that the film will most probably be shot in black and white.
As a dedicated enthusiast, I’m continuing to refine my efforts on this project, as I aim to infuse it with a modern perspective. The process is meticulous due to the profound significance I place on extensive study and thorough investigation over a substantial period.
The renowned filmmaker shared some preliminary information about the upcoming movie. More precisely, Scorsese mentioned that the production would last approximately 80 minutes and delve into Jesus’ fundamental teachings in a manner that examines principles without promoting them as doctrine. He also highlighted that the film will not strictly adhere to narrative or documentary styles; instead, it will blend elements from both.
Earlier, Scorsese stated that his movie wouldn’t follow a typical or straightforward narrative about Jesus’ life. Instead, some parts would be inspired by the book “A Life of Jesus” by Shūsaku Endō, which explores the relevance of Jesus in contemporary human lives.
