Today, on April 25th, Mohanlal and Shobana’s long-awaited Malayalam movie “Thudarum” has been released in cinemas. Enthusiastic fans flocked to theaters for the opening day, first screening. Amidst the excitement, a special visitor grabbed everyone’s attention – it was none other than Unni Mukundan from the film “Marco,” who came to express his support for the movie.
A snapshot of the renowned Malayalam actor is making rounds on social platforms, displaying him taking a selfie with his admirers at the cinema complex. With a drink in his hand, he was spotted capturing moments with the crowd prior to attending the premiere of Mohanlal’s Thudarum.

Currently, the Telugu adaptation of Thudarum isn’t receiving much attention because it hasn’t been heavily promoted and there’s little excitement surrounding its release. In contrast, the Malayalam version has garnered quite a bit of interest. Unfortunately, this means that the Telugu debut is being largely overlooked. To add to the disappointment of fans, only one screening has been scheduled in Hyderabad, leaving many eager viewers disappointed.
The selective screenings have sparked doubts about the distributor’s commitment to appealing to the Telugu audience. There’s been discussion about whether the movie will get additional showings or if its potential in the Telugu regions won’t be fully tapped. With less vigorous promotion, it appears that the film is failing to maintain the buzz it created in Malayalam.

In 2025, Tharun Moorthy will direct the Malayalam crime drama titled “Thudarum.” K. R. Sunil worked with him on the script for this film. The main characters are played by Mohanlal and Shobana, while Farhaan Faasil, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Krishna Prabha, and Aravind have supporting roles.
