As a die-hard fan of Malayalam cinema, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming collaboration between two legends, Mammootty and Mohanlal, in Mahesh Narayanan’s new project, tentatively titled MMMN. The prospect of seeing these two titans share the screen after 16 long years is enough to make any movie lover’s heart flutter!
Malik director Mahesh Narayanan has recently addressed rumors suggesting he’s reusing a script originally intended for Kamal Haasan in his upcoming project starring Mammootty and Mohanlal. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker clarified that such speculations are unfounded and emphasized that the new movie is indeed his original work.
During an interview with THR, the filmmaker shared that the forthcoming film featuring Mammootty, provisional title MMMN, represents an original narrative that is distinctly his own creation, promising to deliver an exhilarating mix of action and suspense on a grand scale.
When questioned about the status of his collaboration with Kamal Haasan, the director disclosed that Kamal Haasan has penned a script specifically for him. Notably, this will mark the director’s debut in Tamil cinema. Furthermore, the director-editor clarified that the film with Haasan is under development and requires more time to be crafted according to their preferred style.
Additionally, Mahesh Narayanan discussed his movie MMMN, clarifying that Mohanlal will not have a brief appearance but instead will play a substantial role in the film. It seems that after a gap of 16 years, he and Mammootty will share the screen again, each taking on significant roles.
Additionally, a diverse group of talented actors such as Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Darshana Rajendran, Revathy, and several others will be prominently featured in this movie.
Speaking about managing such a large ensemble cast, the director disclosed that Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil are his long-time friends. They often encourage him to work harder and improve his work. However, he emphasized that these actors’ presence is not merely as cameos, but their characters carry substantial importance within the storyline.
Similarly, just like Mohanlal, the primary difficulty lies in portraying multiple characters effectively for him. Meanwhile, the director has shared that this film is not inspired by actual events; however, they are unable to disclose further details regarding its underlying theme.
Recently, it became known that Megastar Mammootty started working on a high-budget movie alongside director Mahesh Narayanan. This film is being shot in Sri Lanka and features Mohanlal in a significant role. To add excitement, the two superstars shared a viral selfie from the shooting location.
