Malayalam director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan writes an open letter to THIS actress following harassment allegations

Movie Director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan found himself in a difficult situation due to accusations of harassing an actress via social media platforms, as reported by Mathrubhumi on January 27th. Subsequently, he has taken to his Instagram account to publicly address the issue and pen an open letter to Manju Warrier.

Sanal asserted that the situation originated from him announcing publicly that the actress’s life was under threat and that she was prohibited from communicating with him. Additionally, he emphasized that a case filed against him three years prior had not been investigated because neither the actress’s statement nor any evidence had been gathered at that time.

In simpler terms, the Malayalam filmmaker stated that he disclosed the information to the public, accompanied by an audio file of their discussion. Sanal asserted that the public’s attempts to sidestep the discussion about the audio were unsuccessful.

He conveyed his conviction that the actress hadn’t realized the circumstances and asserted that the police matter had been set up to restrict her from speaking publicly. Regardless, Sanal made it clear that he wasn’t intimidated by the legal process but was worried about the actress’s lack of response. In conclusion, he appealed to the media to uncover the facts surrounding the case.

The current police investigation aims to prevent any circumstances requiring public disclosure of sensitive information. Regarding the case, I am not fearful.

In the open letter, the director opted to employ the hashtag “#ManjuWarrier” rather than explicitly mentioning her name.

Sanal Kumar Sasidharan and Manju Warrier previously worked together on a film called “A’hr Kayattam.” Interestingly, the filmmaker made the movie available for free viewing via Google Drive links when it was released online.
