Malayalam director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan lands in trouble for allegedly harassing actress on social media; REPORT

Malayalam film director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has been embroiled in a dispute following an accusation of cyberbullying made by a well-known actress. As reported by Mathrubhumi, the accuser lodged a complaint at the Elamakkara Police Station on January 27th. She claimed that the movie maker had disrespected her through numerous social media posts.

The actress asserted that Sanal Kumar persistently tagged her on various online platforms and circulated audio messages under her name. In these posts, it was suggested by the director that the actress’s life was at risk. Furthermore, he apparently uploaded a movie starring the actress online for free without her approval.

It’s worth mentioning that Sanal recently shared a Google Drive link to his movie “A’hr Kayattam” on Facebook. The film stars Manju Warrier as the main character. He posted the link along with subtitles, saying, “Watch A‘hr (Kayattam) with subtitles. This film was entirely filmed on an iPhone in 2019, amidst the Himalayas. Manju Warrier, Ratheesh Kumar Raveendran.

In 2019, they worked together on a project, but the movie wasn’t released in theatres despite being screened at film festivals. It’s still unclear if Manju Warrier is the complainant, although social media posts suggest it could be her, given her role as Vettaiyan actress.

Previously, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has faced legal troubles with the same actress due to similar accusations. More recently, in May 2022, he was taken into custody in Parassala due to similar allegations. The original complaint alleged that he persistently made unwanted romantic advances and caused emotional distress to the actress.
