As a long-time admirer of Sandra Thomas and her unwavering dedication to justice, I find it disheartening to witness this turn of events. The Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) seems to be turning a blind eye to serious allegations of sexual misconduct in Mollywood while choosing to punish those who speak up.
The well-known Malayalam actress, Sandra Thomas, has been expelled from the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) due to claims of breaking the association’s disciplinary rules. According to a report by PTI, Sandra publicly criticized KFPA and other film organizations following the release of the Hema Committee Report. She also expressed concern about their lack of response to shocking allegations of sexual misconduct in Mollywood.
Following her statements, Sandra Thomas received a request for explanation from the organization, due to her repeated violations of disciplinary rules and unwarranted allegations against committee members. On October 28, during an executive meeting, the KFPA concluded this, finding Sandra Thomas at fault. Moreover, the association was disappointed with her response to the notice.
In a letter reported by PTI, B Rajesh, KFPA secretary, said, “We have made the decision to terminate the membership of Sandra Thomas Productions and yourself, acting on behalf of the company.
Later on, Sandra Thomas spoke to the press and disclosed that she had been dismissed from the organization despite offering a detailed justification. In her words, “It seems they aimed to muffle voices like mine.
In a previous open letter, the actress shared her experience of alleged misconduct at the Kerala Film Producers’ Association office. She explained that this incident left her in a state of shock and sleeplessness for several days, as she is still struggling to cope with the aftermath of the traumatic event.
Earlier, Thomas filed a police report accusing nine leaders of KFPA of unprofessional behavior during a gathering aimed at resolving a production disagreement. The authorities in Ernakulam Central took up the case in October following her complaint; however, the producers have denied these allegations.
