Major Update on WWE Superstar Big E: What’s Next for Him?

As a long-time WWE fan and someone who’s witnessed the rise and fall of many beloved characters, I have to admit, this Big E situation has left me reeling. The New Day was one of my favorite trios, and seeing them disintegrate like this is heart-wrenching.

As a diehard fan, I couldn’t help but feel my heart pounding when I saw “Big E” – the ex-WWE Champion and cherished member of The New Day – step into the ring after an extended absence of more than two years! This long-awaited return unfolded on the recent episode of WWE RAW.

At the performance, viewers enjoyed celebrating The New Day’s decade milestone. Over the last couple of years, it’s been Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods who embodied The New Day. Yet, for quite some time now, there has been a growing strain between these two.

WWE appears to be suggesting a possible separation among The New Day team members. During RAW, Big E intervened to diffuse the tension. He vowed to assist them, taking on the role of their manager, and emphasized their unique qualities, reminding them who they truly are.

In an unexpected turn of events, both Kingston and Woods confronted Big E with severe accusations. They alleged that he had deserted them, with Kingston stating bluntly, “You bailed on us, E. Yeah, you snapped your neck. So what?” This left Big E in a state of disarray. Later, Woods declared, “It’s high time we revealed the truth – he may never be medically cleared.

Big E was asked to leave the wrestling arena, and they mentioned they’d contact him if necessary. However, despite his efforts to persuade them otherwise, they declined. Dejected, Big E exited the ring as Woods and Kingston greeted each other. This unexpected event has been followed by significant news about Big E’s contract situation before WWE RAW.

Update on Big E’s WWE contract status

According to Fightful Select, The New Day members signed five-year contracts five years ago, which are now nearing their end in December 2022. Since Big E sustained a neck injury in March 2022, WWE has the opportunity to extend his contract by adding time due to his injury.

It appears that the reports indicate Big E’s contract with WWE has not been extended due to any additional time for injury recovery. It’s uncertain if he has re-signed or negotiated a new deal during this period. Additionally, it was noted that although he is injured, he has still been contributing by featuring in digital content, public appearances, and panels.

Although no news is available yet about Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods renewing their contracts, or whether The New Day will betray Big E whose contract details are unclear, it’s intriguing to speculate on what may occur for Big E when his current deal concludes at the end of this year.
