In an interview for a Cosmopolitan digital cover story released on April 28, 2025, Madison Beer opened up about her connection with singer Justin Bieber and his spouse, Hailey Bieber.

“I have a deep affection for both Justin and Hailey Bieber. Not long ago, we were together, and we marveled at the fact that we’ve known each other for such a significant part of our lives. I first met Hailey when I was 10 years old, and Justin when I was 12. They are still important figures in my life, and now they are married with a child.” – The 26-year-old singer shared this sentiment.

Initially, Justin Bieber encountered Beer back in 2012 when he noticed her performing a rendition of Etta James’ “At Last.” Afterward, she joined his management, which was handled by Scooter Braun at the time. In the course of an interview, Beer also shared her experiences with changing teams. “In the blink of an eye, my manager, attorney, and record label all let me go on the very same day,” Beer recollected, further stating, “I was 16 years old then, and my record label basically said, ‘Break a leg!’

Additionally, she opened up about experiencing inappropriate talks at a tender age. “I recall an instance when I was 14, and there were discussions centered around me. People said things like, ‘She’s too sexy,’ and ‘We can’t sell the sex because she’s so young, so we’d have to wait.’ This was a genuine conversation, adults discussing how I was too mature for my age. At 14 years old, this was happening to me.

In terms of how Beer was treated, he said, “I went from receiving affectionate gestures such as a family-like kiss on the forehead and an invitation to their house for Thanksgiving, with expressions like ‘You’re family to us,’ and ‘We all love you,’ to being abruptly dismissed with a harsh head drop.” (via People)

Reflecting on the situation, Beer mused, “It seemed they no longer valued me as they once did. Perhaps they made a mistake by agreeing to a contract with someone so young, not considering the impact it would have on my future.
