As a die-hard fan of both Netflix teen shows and horror movies, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming slasher “Time Cut” starring Madison Bailey from Outer Banks and Antonia Gentry from Ginny & Georgia. With a release date set for October 30, 2024, just one day before Halloween, this film promises to be the perfect blend of suspense, drama, and scares.
In a chilling collaboration for Netflix, stars from two highly-acclaimed teen series are joining forces in an upcoming slasher film. These talented actresses are Madison Bailey, known for her role in ‘Outer Banks’, and Antonia Gentry, hailing from ‘Ginny & Georgia’. The spine-tingling movie is titled ‘Time Cut‘, and it’s set to premiere on Netflix this autumn. Keep your calendars marked, as the terrifying tale will be unveiled on October 30, 2024, a day before the spooky festivities of Halloween.
Back in May 2021, we became aware of an upcoming movie titled “Time Cut”. ACE Entertainment, known for producing “To All the Boys”, was set to produce this YA film. The lead roles were assigned to Bailey and Gentry. Hannah Macpherson, famously known for her work in “Into the Dark” and “Trinkets”, was announced as the director. Additionally, Michael Kennedy and Sono Patel were revealed to be scriptwriters. However, later on, Patel left the project, with Macpherson taking over as co-writer. The movie was described as a blend of “Back to the Future” (1985) and “Scream” (1996).
The filming for “Time Cut” began on July 6, 2021, in Canada, and concluded around August of the same year. In February 2024, new cast members were revealed. These actors include Michael Shanks, Griffin Gluck, Rachael Crawford, Jordan Pettle, Megan Best, Samuel Braun, Sydney Sabiston, and Kataem O’Connor.
The narrative focuses on Lucy Field, a brilliant high school senior with a knack for science, who discovers a time machine. Intrigued, she opts to journey back in time to the early 2000s, aiming to prevent her elder sister’s murder and uncover the identity of the culprit. Bailey takes on the lead role as Lucy Field, while Gentry brings Summer Field to life.
You might recognize Bailey from her role as Kiara “Kie” Carrera in the teen drama series Outer Banks. She’s also had roles on TV shows such as Black Lightning and Council of Dads. Gentry, on the other hand, is best known for starring as Virginia “Ginny” Miller in the comedy-drama series Ginny & Georgia. You might’ve also watched her in the Netflix rom-com Candy Jar or the Hulu coming-of-age comedy film Prom Dates.
