Sivakarthikeyan recently thrilled fans with a stunning new appearance and rough-and-tough look in the trailer for his upcoming film, simply titled “Madharasi.” This marks his debut collaboration with director AR Murugadoss, making it one of the most eagerly awaited projects featuring the actor. Interestingly, it appears that “Madharasi” wasn’t the original choice for the movie’s title.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing an interesting tidbit about the creative process behind a recent film project. Initially, the team was contemplating the title “Hunter” for their movie, as they believed it perfectly encapsulated the film’s theme. However, it was Sivakarthikeyan who decided to step aside from this choice, out of his profound admiration for Rajinikanth, allowing the project to take on a different name that resonated just as well with its storyline.
For those who may be unfamiliar, a movie titled “Hunter” in Tamil (Vettaiyan) featuring Rajinikanth was released in cinemas last year. Given this, SK decided against competing for a title with the same name.
Eventually, it was filmmaker AR Murugadoss who decided upon the name “Madhari,” a term often used by northern Indians to describe individuals from the southern regions of the nation.
In an interview with TOI, AR Murugadoss clarified that the narrative commences through the perspective of characters hailing from North India. He noted that “Madharasi” is a common term North Indians often use to describe someone from the South.
During that very interview, the director shared an intriguing fact concerning the film, drawing parallels between it and some of his successful productions, such as Ghajini and Thuppakki.
In essence, AR Murugadoss revealed that similar to the main characters of the other two movies who possessed distinctive features (one with memory loss and the other a sleeper cell), SK’s character in Madharasi will also have a unique characteristic.
