MacGruber Director Recalls R-Rated Joke Val Kilmer Rejected in Will Forte Comedy Movie

MacGruber director Jorma Taccone is recalling a joke that Val Kilmer refused to do.

The 2010 action-comedy film “MacGruber” was unleashed in the U.S., originating from a Saturday Night Live skit. In this production, Will Forte portrays the lead character, MacGruber, while Kilmer assumes the role of the villain, Dieter Von Cunth.

actor Val Kilmer, famed for his portrayals of Iceman in Top Gun and Bruce Wayne in Batman Forever, as well as numerous other characters, has sadly passed away this month due to pneumonia at the age of 65.

Taccone reminisced on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, “There was a single gag we proposed that he absolutely wouldn’t participate in. We had considered joking about removing his penis and stuffing it back into his mouth. That was the one joke he categorically declined.

I believe he truly made the right call here. It’d be an even tougher conversation for all of us if we’d put this individual through such a challenge.

Working alongside Val Vilmer on MacGruber was mind-blowing, really. I mean, we were all massive fans, and Top Secret was the first film I saw where I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe. I can’t recall my exact age at the time, but it left me thinking, “Wow, adults can be this funny!” So to have this person who was such a significant part of our childhoods and that movie acting alongside us, and then discovering he was reading the script cold and absolutely nailing it? Yeah, it was something else.
