What did Blumhouse boss say about Ma 2?
Ever since its debut in 2019, Ma has become a cultural sensation, as audiences have enthusiastically taken to the movie and Octavia’s remarkable portrayal of Ma. In a statement, Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum expressed his excitement, stating that ‘Ma enjoys saying, ‘don’t make me drink alone,’ so we’re overjoyed that Octavia will join us for another round.’
The initial film was helmed by Tate Taylor based on a script penned by Scotty Landes. The ensemble included Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, Gianni Paolo, McKaley Miller, Luke Evans, Missi Pyle, Allison Janney, Dominic Burgess, and others. During its cinema release, it garnered a global box office revenue exceeding $61 million. At first, it received mixed criticisms, but eventually gained a dedicated fanbase, becoming a cult classic.
In this rephrased version, “A middle-aged woman who feels lonely finds friendship with some teenagers and allows them to host parties in her basement. However, there are conditions: One teenager must remain sober, avoid profanity, and never venture upstairs. They are also expected to address her as ‘Ma.’ At first, the house seems like the best hangout spot, but as Ma’s kindness morphs into obsession, the once-ideal location transforms into a living nightmare, making her home the worst place on Earth.
