As per the latest update from World of Reel, the film they’re referring to is tentatively titled “Remain” and is scheduled to commence production in August of this year. Additionally, it has been reported that M. Night Shyamalan will be collaborating with a new cinematographer for this project, Adolpho Veloso, who is also involved in the upcoming film, Train Dreams.
The upcoming project will be a “spiritual romance-filled mystery” that originates from an exclusive story idea shared by M. Night Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks, who is renowned for his works such as The Notebook, Dear John, The Last Song, among others, several of which have also been adapted into films.
Based on a report from Deadline, Shyamalan and Sparks are collaborating to develop the story for an upcoming movie. While Shyamalan is penning the screenplay, Sparks will be writing a novel derived from the same initial story. As of yet, the film’s subject matter or any casting details have not been revealed, leaving us all in suspense about what lies ahead.
Jake Gyllenhaal’s most recent film was the 2024 release “Road House,” a remake of the 1989 action movie for Amazon. His next venture will be in Guy Ritchie’s forthcoming action-thriller, “In the Grey,” alongside Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Rosamund Pike, and others. Additionally, Gyllenhaal is set to appear in an upcoming monster movie titled “The Bride!”, directed by his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal.
