As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that Lucky Baskhar has undeniably left its mark on the cinematic landscape this year. Having had the privilege to witness the rise and fall of numerous films, I can confidently assert that Dulquer Salmaan’s performance in Lucky Baskhar is one for the books.
On October 31, 2024, the movie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary titled Lucky Baskhar premiered in theaters. Following an impressive run at the box office, it made its digital debut on Netflix on November 28, 2024. Just three weeks after its online release, the film has gained a firm position with viewers.
In alignment with the latest report from Koimoi, I’m thrilled to share that the movie I’ve been eagerly following has amassed an astounding viewership of 14.9 million on the streaming platform this year, placing it among the most-watched South Indian films of 2024. Remarkably, this view count eclipses the impressive 8.6 million views of the Jr. NTR starrer Devara: Part 1 and Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) with its maximum of 8 million, underscoring the film’s popularity among viewers like myself.
During its initial release, the movie generated considerable excitement at the box office, as reported by multiple sources. According to data gathered, Lucky Baskhar amassed a staggering 107 crores in earnings at the box office. Approximately 75% of this revenue was garnered from domestic markets, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and others.
The movie concluded its cinematic release on a triumphant note, but it has since become equally successful on streaming services. Interestingly, if we compare Lucky Baskhar’s online viewing figures from its debut week to the current (third) week, the film has experienced only a 45.78% drop in viewership.
Most and least viewed week of Lucky Baskhar on OTT

Over the course of several weeks, the movie starring Dulquer Salmaan saw a substantial surge in audience engagement, reaching a grand total of 6.6 million views during its second week. This increase equated to a noteworthy jump of 25.64%, enabling the film to maintain its spot as the second most popular movie worldwide.
In its third week now, the movie has seen a drop in daily viewers. Yet, it continues to rank high in overall viewership, keeping its spot among the most successful South Indian films on this streaming platform.
