The movie Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, is a political action thriller directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran in his debut venture and written by Murali Gopy. The first installment of a planned trilogy, the movie begins with a major power struggle in Kerala following the chief minister’s death.
With questions about his leadership surfacing, there are signs of political maneuvering and changes in position against candidate Stephen Nedumpally. Yet, it quickly becomes clear that he is not just as others perceive him to be.
Starring Mohanlal, the film boasts a star-studded cast that includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Sai Kumar, among others, in significant roles.
The movie was later remade in Telugu as Godfather, with Chiranjeevi in the lead role.
