As a seasoned gamer with roots deeply entrenched in the vibrant Latin American esports scene, I can confidently say that the LATAM Snapdragon Mobile Challenge 2024 was an exhilarating spectacle that brought together the best of both worlds – traditional sports and esports. The energy at Komplexo Tempo was electric, with every match showcasing the skill and determination of these talented players.
During the weekend just gone, an important milestone was reached in the world of esports as the initial live event for the Snapdragon Pro Series’ EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile tournament – known as the LATAM Snapdragon Mobile Challenge 2024 – unfolded at the Komplexo Tempo in São Paulo, Brazil. This exciting competition took place from December 14th to 15th.
The exciting tournament, which brought together top-tier talent from Latin America, showcased nail-biting matches that enthralled hundreds of spectators in person and nearly 6,000 online viewers. Everybody eagerly awaited to find out who would claim the trophy and the largest portion of the prize money.
Ultimately, Lucas “LUCASKKJ” earned the championship title and pocketed a $6,000 prize. In an intense five-game showdown against his Colombian rival, STEVEN, he secured victory with a final score of 3-1.
In the competition, Steven secured a runner-up position, placing him above Reiss06 who finished in third. This means Steven received USD $3,000, while Reiss06 got USD $2,500 in winnings.
Through team R10, skillfully led by soccer icon Ronaldinho Gaúcho, LUCASKKJ’s triumph wasn’t solely a personal success; it underscored the blossoming unity between conventional sports and electronic sports, serving as an inspiring symbol of their harmonious convergence.
The Snapdragon Pro Series, the globally recognized multi-genre mobile esports tournament managed by ESL FACEIT Group, has just expanded its list of games with the addition of EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile. This makes it the first sports game to be incorporated into their lineup.
2024 marked the culmination of the first-ever season for EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile within the Snapdragon Pro Series. This season was specifically designed for mobile gamers in Latin America, an area teeming with ardent soccer enthusiasts and a lively gaming community.
