The latest installment of Love Next Door started off with a glance back at when Seung-Hyo secretly entered Seok-Ryu’s room in the U.S. They were spending some quality moments together. Upon waking up, Seok-Ryu confessed that Brian was her boyfriend and suggested introducing him to Seung-Hyo.
Choi Seung-Hyo discovers Bae Seok-Ryu’s feelings
In the current moment, Seung-Hyo and Seok-Ryu found themselves back in Seung-Hyo’s office. Impressed, Seok-Ryu decided to prepare a meal for his friend which turned out delightful. However, when Seung-Hyo noticed Seok-Ryu gazing at him affectionately, he became uneasy. Upon the arrival of their mutual friend Jeong Mo-Eum, Seung-Hyo quickly excused himself. The ladies then engaged in a conversation about marriage, with Seok-Ryu sharing his pre-wedding photo shoot images.
Mo-Eum inquired whether Seok-Ryu had fully recovered from her broken engagement, but Seok-Ryu admitted she still harbored feelings for her former fiance. As Seung-Hyo walked in and proposed to buy the ladies a round, Seok-Ryu declined when she noticed photos of herself on her phone. The next day, Yoon Myung-Woo, one of Seung-Hyo’s partners, invited Seok-Ryu to collaborate on Greip’s project.
1. Seung-Hyo made it clear that it wasn’t right for Seok-Ryu to collaborate with her old company, as she was still pursuing her dreams. They bid farewell to Seok-Ryu at a restaurant, with Seung-Hyo subtly suggesting they should leave the past in the past and focus on the future.
An unexpected arrival shakes Choi Seung-Hyo & Bae Seok-Ryu’s feelings
1. As Seok-Ryu stepped in to aid Seung-Hyo on the project, his patience began to wear thin. They had a disagreement when they unexpectedly ran into Seung-Hyo’s former partner, Jang Tae-Hui. She expressed interest in teaming up with Seung-Hyo and the firm for her upcoming project. Later, overheard by a colleague, Seok-Ryu referred to their bond as “fiery.”
1. One day, Seung-Hyo and Tae-Hui encountered Seok-Ryu. Later on, when Myung-Woo suggested organizing a workshop, Tae-Hui proposed inviting her company colleagues to her onggi studio. During the evening hours, Seung-Hyo enjoyed some beverages with Seok-Ryu’s father and stayed at her brother’s residence. As Seok-Ryu believed her brother was sleeping deeply, she harshly roused him; however, it turned out to be Seung-Hyo instead.
Following the discovery of them sharing a bed by Seok-Ryu’s brother, he grew suspicious of misconduct. To prevent him from spreading the news, Seung-Hyo tried to follow but accidentally bumped into something and hurt his toe instead. After discussing the matter with their father at the hospital and receiving treatment including a cast, Seok-Ryu proposed taking him to Tae-Hui’s workshop. At the same time, Jeong Mo-Eum had a brief interaction with Kang Dan-Oh (played by Yoon Ji-On).

They arrived at Tae-Hui’s workshop, where Seok-Ryu found out that Tae-Hui not only crafted onggi pots but also created fillings and condiments for them using local women’s assistance. The ladies were being aided by Tae-Hui when she proposed to speak with Seung-Hyo privately. It turned out that both had developed strong feelings for each other. Tae-Hui also admitted that she used the work as a pretext to grow closer to Seung-Hyo.
Initially, Seung-Hyo was crafting an onggi pot with the help of another person, and at that moment, Seok-Ryu stepped away to use the restroom. Upon returning, she noticed their collaboration, felt it necessary to apologize for intruding, and left the scene. Later, she shared her opinion that Seung-Hyo and Tae-Hui would be a good match if they became partners, which further irritated Seung-Hyo as he requested Seok-Ryu to stay out of his personal matters.
During the workshop, Seung-Hyo pondered on a past moment when Seok-Ryu admitted she was still smitten with her former boyfriend. Simultaneously, Mo-Eum tended to an urgent patient, who turned out to be Dan-Oh’s child. Meanwhile, back at the workshop, Tae-Hui requested assistance as she transferred the paste to the studio.
Under Seok-Ryu’s persuasion, Tae-Hui consented. Unfortunately, as she was shifting the pot, it broke apart, causing Seok-Ryu to tumble down. Seung-Hyo reprimanded her sternly, while Tae-Hui handed her some clothes to wear instead. In the evening, Seok-Ryu prepared a scrumptious meal for the entire team.
Bae Seok-Ryu realizes her dream
Following dinner, Seok-Ryu noticed that Tae-Hui had scars on her arm. She explained these marks were tokens of her dedication to crafting traditional Korean pots called onggi. In conversation with Seung-Hyo, Tae-Hui shared that she perceived a new and brighter aspect of him when he observed Seok-Ryu engaging with the women at the workshop.
As Seok-Ryu strolled along, she noticed that Seung-Hyo had cleaned the mark on his shirt – it seemed he’d spilled something while he’d fallen earlier. Meanwhile, Seung-Hyo was searching for a 100-year-old soy sauce when they crossed paths. Upon finding the aged condiment, she felt her heart swell with ambition to become a chef. Simultaneously, it struck Seung-Hyo that he still held feelings for her.
