As a die-hard fan of action thrillers who has been around long enough to remember Ke Huy Quan’s iconic role as Short Round in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” I can hardly contain my excitement for Universal Pictures’ upcoming film, “Love Hurts.
Universal Pictures has released the formal trailer for their upcoming action thriller titled “Love Hurts,” featuring Oscar winners Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose in leading roles. Notably, this is Quan’s first prominent lead role post his outstanding performance in the 2022 hit film Everything Everywhere All at Once. The movie is set to premiere in cinemas on February 7, 2025.
The movie centers around Marvin Gable, a realtor in Milwaukee’s suburbs where ‘For Sale’ signs are abundant. He receives a menacing letter from Rose, an old accomplice he thought was dead. She’s not pleased. This sets off a chain of events that sees Marvin dragged back into a treacherous underworld full of betrayals and real estate open houses transformed into lethal battlefields. With his brother Knuckles, a dangerous crime boss, hot on his heels, Marvin is forced to face the ghosts from his past and the history he failed to bury properly.
