Among various exciting Prime Video movies and TV series set to premiere soon is the much-awaited “Rewind” anime film, which has now confirmed its streaming release date. Luckily, fans of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work won’t have to wait long before they can stream director Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s new movie right from their homes.

Prime Video sets November 2024 release date for Look Back anime movie

On October 4, the animated drama debuted and earned $690,171 on its opening day. By the end of its domestic run, it had amassed more than $1.8 million. This film turned out to be an even greater global hit, raking in nearly $12 million (as reported by Box Office Mojo). The box office success of this movie has led Prime Video to announce a release date of November 7, 2024.

Look Back focuses on Ayumu Fujino, a gifted young artist known for her humorous comics in her school’s newspaper. Her path crosses with Kyomoto, a quiet individual with exceptional artistic abilities. Initially, Fujino feels inspired by Kyomoto’s talent, leading to a friendly rivalry. However, their shared passion for art brings them closer and they begin collaborating as manga artists.

In a more casual and accessible manner: “Fujino, known for her humor and popularity among peers, is admired by classmates for her witty comic strips published in the school paper. One day, her teacher suggests she collaborate with Kyomoto, a mysterious student who often skips school but creates breathtaking artwork. This proposition ignites a sense of competition within Fujino.

The synopsis continues:

Initially, Fujino’s feelings are tinged with jealousy. However, this changes as they discover a mutual love for art – specifically, drawing. The movie beautifully portrays the ups and downs of chasing artistic perfection, as well as the unique connections that can be forged through joint creative endeavors.

Under the direction of Kiyotaka Oshiyama, and in collaboration with Tatsuki Fujimoto on the script, the film Look Back features Yumi Kawai lending her voice to the character Fujino. Additionally, Mizuki Yoshida is heard as Kyomoto within the movie.
