LoL: Top Lane Tier List For Patch 14.14

LoL: Top Lane Tier List For Patch 14.14

As a seasoned League of Legends player with over 5000 hours under my belt, I can confidently say that the current top lane meta is more varied than ever before. I’ve been playing this game since its infancy, and I’ve seen countless champions come and go. But let me tell you, my dear reader, the A-tier picks for patch 14.14 are truly something special.

In this update, Jayce and Cho’Gath received overdue strength enhancements, along with modifications to certain items like Warmog’s Armor.

So let’s check out the top lane tier list and which champions reign supreme in LoL Patch 14.14.

Top Lane Tier List: S-Tier Top Lane Picks Of LoL Patch 14.14

As a dedicated gamer, I can tell you that the top lane in League of Legends offers an exciting array of champion options. In this discussion, we’ll explore the top picks among all the champions that truly shine in the top lane!

3. Cho’Gath

As a long-time League of Legends player, I can’t help but feel passionately about the often overlooked champion, Cho’Gath. While some may be deceived by his current 49.88% win rate, let me tell you from my experience, he is a force to be reckoned with in this patch.

LoL: Top Lane Tier List For Patch 14.14

Build:

As a devoted fan of the fearsome champion Cho’Gath, I can tell you from personal experience that he thrives on building a solid defensive foundation. His inherent base damage allows him to get through the grueling laning phase with ease. To maximize his health and survivability, my recommendation is to begin with the Heartsteel of Anqu’anathal. Following this first purchase, you’ll want to focus on amassing tank items at your own pace. Common choices include Thornmail, Sunfire Cape, Wukong’s Crucible, and Force of Nature.

Power Spikes:

After reaching Level 6, the main focus becomes increasing your health points (HP). No significant power surge calls for further action besides finishing your inventory and occasionally weakening enemy champions.

Counters:

Cho’Gath is vulnerable to swift combatants. Avoid encountering Fiora, Vayne, and Riven as they can cause significant damage to him.

Good Synergies:

ChoGath, being completely filled with energy like a full gas tank, desperately requires the support of additional damage dealers. He would benefit greatly from having an ADC (Attack Damage Carry) or a swift hitting champion, such as Yi or Viego, fighting alongside him.

2. Volibear

Volibear is currently one of the best champions in the game with a win rate of 51.06%%.

Build:

As a gamer, I’d say that when it comes to Volibear, my go-to first item is the Rod of Ages. With his impressive base damage, I can afford to start a bit weaker knowing that this item will eventually pay off in full. Once the Rod of Ages has fully charged up, I’ll add Navori Quickblades and a tank item to my build. The Frozen Heart, Thornmail, and Spirit Visage are all solid choices for completing my build and making me a formidable force on the Rift!

Power Spikes:

As a huge Volibear fan, I’d say that he’s an impressive champion throughout the game, but it’s during the mid game where he truly comes alive. In one-on-one encounters, I can easily wipe out my opponents. When it comes to team fights, Volibear holds his own quite effectively. However, as the game progresses and the enemy team starts to build tanky champions, Volibear may lose some of his strength. But with the right strategy and a solid team behind me, I can still make an impact even in the later stages of the game.

Counters:

As a long-time League of Legends player and top laner myself, I can confidently say that dealing with difficult opponents in this role is nothing new. But let me tell you, when it comes to truly problematic champions, Singed takes the cake.

Good Synergies:

I’m a big fan of having a strong team that can perform well on their own when I’m not around. Voli is an excellent choice for a side lane because his turret damaging abilities are so powerful, few opponents can match him.

1. Sett

Sett is the final boss of top lane and is sitting at a 51.28% win rate.

Build:

As a passionate fan of Sett, I would recommend prioritizing the construction of Tiamat as your first item in the bottom lane. Once built, take some time to get accustomed to its new abilities. For the next step, consider Stridebreaker as an excellent choice, especially with the newly introduced Overlord’s Bloodmail as an upgrade.

Power Spikes:

Set is a robust champion for solo lanes with the capacity to endure minor clashes right from the start. However, it’s recommended to hold off engaging fully until reaching level 3 and having access to all of your skills.

Counters:

Long ranged champions like Vayne and Teemo should be avoided at all costs.

Good Synergies:

With Sett as your champion, you have various options when it comes to teaming up with others. In encounters against ranged adversaries, choose a jungler who brings crowd control (CC) and agility. However, opting for a supportive champion like Ivern can also be effective, helping him survive and thrive in the early stages of the game.

Top Lane Tier List in LoL Patch 14.14: The Other Top Lane Champions

As a fan of League of Legends, I’d like to share that although S-Tier top laners are often the go-to champions for many players due to their high skill ceilings and effectiveness, there are still plenty of other great options worth considering when they’re not available. Let me introduce you to some champions that might surprise you with their unique strengths and playstyles!

The A-Tier Top Picks Of LoL Patch 14.14

As a gamer, if the go-to top-tier champions aren’t your cup of tea or have been banned, I recommend checking out the B-tier champions instead. These champions might not be as strong as the S-tiers, but they’re still solid and effective picks in the game. The A-tier champs are decent and generally don’t require any nerfs, so you can expect similar performance from them.

The F-Tier Top Picks Of LoL Patch 14.14

To have a good chance of winning, it might be best to avoid competing against these champion players, as they are likely to outperform you unless you have a very specific and effective strategy against them.
