Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is highly acclaimed in Indian cinema, particularly recognized for his high-energy films like Vikram, Master, Kaithi, and more. Recently, Aamir Khan from Bollywood publicly endorsed Kanagaraj’s upcoming projects.

Coolie

In a recent conversation, Actor Too Filmy disclosed that he will make a brief appearance in the movie “Coolie,” starring Rajinikanth. Officially confirming the news, Khan shared that his role promises to be intriguing and something that everyone will enjoy watching.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming action film is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025. Notable stars such as Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao have been added to the cast, with Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and others playing significant roles alongside them.

It appears that further specifics regarding the upcoming film are still under wraps, but what’s known is that this production won’t fall within the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU). Instead, it seems to be a self-contained story, much like Master.

Kaithi 2

In advance, it was clarified that Aamir Khan’s next project will be Kaithi 2, featuring Karthi as the main character. The long-anticipated sequel has been temporarily halted due to Kanagaraj’s other obligations and is now projected to begin filming during the second half of 2025.

In case you haven’t heard, the movie is actually a follow-up to LCU’s initial release, Kaithi, from 2019. This film tells a tale about a former convict who finds himself embarking on a mission during one fateful night, all because of a righteous cop and some very dangerous gang members hot on their heels.

Leading the film was Karthi, joined by performers like Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, George Maryan, and several others who played significant parts.
