Live-Action Stitch Scores a Touchdown in Lilo & Stitch Super Bowl Ad

The Super Bowl ad for the live-action version of Lilo & Stitch has been released.

Back in June of 2002, the animated movie Lilo & Stitch was first introduced to audiences, with Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois as its creators and directors. Subsequently, four films were produced: Stitch! The Movie (released in 2003), Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (in 2005), and two direct-to-video sequels titled Leroy & Stitch and its spin-off (both released in 2006).

Additionally, a series titled “Lilo & Stitch” aired on ABC starting from September 2004, spanning across 65 episodes.

The advertisement for the upcoming movie that will hit U.S. cinemas in May has just been unveiled, and you can watch it here (check out other trailers and clips):

What do we know about the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie?

Disney’s fresh take on their 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch tells the heartwarming and humorous tale of a Hawaiian girl feeling lonely, and the alien outlaw who assists in healing her fractured family.” – Disney’s description of the movie.

The movie is helmed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who has previously worked on projects like “Fraud” (2016) and “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” (2021). Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin take on the producer roles for this film, while Tom Peitzman and Ryan Halprin function as executive producers.

In the upcoming film, Sanders reprises his role as Stitch’s voice, while the cast features Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani Pelekai, Kaipo Dudoit as David Kawena, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, Zach Galifianakis as the character of Dr. Jumba, Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley’s voice, and Hannah Waddingham as the Grand Councilwoman’s voice.
