What do we know about the Dungeons & Dragons TV show?

The show is a fresh take on the well-known franchise, as stated by Variety. Earlier plans for a D&D series at Paramount+ have been shelved, according to their report. Collaborating with Netflix, Hasbro Entertainment will also develop this upcoming TV series.

The TV program goes by the name “The Forgotten Realms,” a title that draws inspiration from the fantasy universe where stories in Dungeons & Dragons are often set. Shawn Levy will also be attached as an executive producer, as will Dan Levine.

Originally launched in 1974, Dungeons & Dragons is a popular fantasy role-playing game for tabletop play. Over the years, it has significantly impacted pop culture and undergone numerous revisions, with its latest version, the 5th edition, coming out in 2024. Through time, this game has been translated into diverse media formats, such as an animated TV series in the 1980s and live-action films during the 2000s.
