As a seasoned gamer who has seen more than a few adaptations of beloved musicals, I must say that my anticipation for Wicked is reaching new heights. The recent release of Ariana Grande’s “Popular” only serves to fuel this excitement. With her powerful voice and knack for bringing songs to life, she seems like the perfect choice for Glinda.
Don’t be offended by her frank analysis.
As the cinematic premiere of “Wicked” draws nearer, a fresh promotional video is out, offering glimpses into Ariana Grande’s unique interpretation of “Popular.
The initial installment of Jon M. Chu’s film adaptation of the stage musical “Wicked,” penned by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, will soon be released. Given its successful run on Broadway and iconic tunes, the anticipation surrounding Cynthia Erivo and Grande’s renditions of these songs is palpable – and they have thus far demonstrated that they were indeed excellent choices for the roles.
Originally sung by Kristin Chenoweth, the tune “Popular” from the musical Wicked, depicts future-good-witch Glinda helping out her roommate Elphaba with a new look.
