Recently, renowned actress Lily Collins posted a cherished infant picture, causing quite a stir among fans. With her professional success on the rise, curiosity surrounding her personal life has also intensified. Let’s take a look at the latest information regarding Lily Collins’ new baby girl, her arrival into the world, and the couple’s initial experiences as parents.
Lily Collins posts picture with her baby amid controversy
Lily Collins recently posted the initial picture showing her and her new baby girl, Tove Jane McDowell, not long after revealing that she had welcomed her child through a surrogate.
Three days in February 2025, she uploaded an image to her Instagram Stories. In this photograph, Collins can be seen pushing a stroller down a street lined with trees. Her husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell, was the first to share the picture, capturing the scene from behind. Later on, Collins reshared it with the caption: “Pure joy.
On January 31st, the couple shared on Instagram that they had welcomed their daughter, Tove Jane McDowell, into their lives through a surrogate. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude and posted a picture of their little one wrapped snugly in a monogrammed blanket with the caption: “Welcome to the heart of our universe, Tove Jane McDowell.
She expressed, “Our heartfelt thanks can’t be fully captured in words for our remarkable surrogate and everyone who supported us throughout this journey. We adore you more than the distance from Earth to the Moon and back.” Celebrities such as Amanda Seyfried, Katherine Langford, and Billie Lourd extended their congratulations to them.

As a supporter, I’ve found myself engaged in discussions about surrogacy, stirred by the recent announcement. Some have voiced concerns over its increasing prevalence among celebrities. McDowell, in response to these criticisms, clarified his stance in the comments section, dispelling misconceptions. “It’s perfectly fine not to be an authority on surrogacy,” he penned. “It’s acceptable not to understand why someone might require a surrogate… And it’s more productive to invest less energy in spreading negativity, particularly when it comes to a precious little girl who has brought so much love into the world.
As a new parent, the excitement in our lives certainly outshone any controversy that might have been stirring around us. McDowell wrapped up his message with a humorous touch, saying something along the lines of “And that’s all for now, I’ve got to change her diaper because she just made one.” We started dating in 2019, tied the knot in 2021, and are now delighted to share our experiences as we embark on this incredible journey into parenthood.
