Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has been announced for February 2025

As a longtime fan of the Yakuza series, I can confidently say that the announcement of “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” has sent me into a frenzy of excitement! The thought of Goro Majima, one of my favorite characters, transforming into a pirate and finding himself in the beautiful islands around Hawaii is simply too good to be true.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has unveiled the upcoming title in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, and it’s quite an intriguing twist! You’re familiar with Goro Majima, yes? Well, get ready for a shock – he’s now transformed into a pirate! And here’s the kicker: he’s stranded on some Hawaiian islands. But that’s not all; it appears he’s also lost his identity, retaining only his name. This sets the stage for an exhilarating action-adventure titled Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which is slated for release in February 2025.

At the RGG Summit 2024 event, Sega and RGG Studio provided an extensive preview of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza set in Hawaii, scheduled for release on February 28, 2025. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Notably, the iconic character Goro Majima, also known as The Mad Dog of Shimano, returns in this adventure. However, it appears that Goro has forgotten his own identity, as he finds himself stranded on a tropical island near Hawaii. After overpowering the local thugs, Goro uncovers a pirate network operating between the islands. It doesn’t take long for him to seize a ship, gather a crew, and join the pirate activity.

The video game “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” will be similar to the mainline Yakuza games from 1 to 5, offering action-adventure. You’ll find yourself fighting enemies on all sides, but our protagonist Goro has unique pirate-themed combat techniques, like wielding two cutlasses at once. He’ll also use his classic combat styles in specific areas. The game showcases beautiful settings and intriguing characters, with wrestling legend Samoa Joe being one of them.

In an amusing twist, the title “Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” could be fitting for a visually quirky game, much like the charm we find in the Yakuza and Like a Dragon series. Keep your eyes peeled as we eagerly await additional information before its release in February 2025 – stay tuned for more exciting news on the Like a Dragon franchise!
